Though many of my sculptural pieces have found homes in museums, private collections, and corporate collections, today I concentrate on functional work for the table — pitchers, mugs, chargers, plates, and bowls— piecing together black porcelain and white porcelain. Color is not applied to the surface. It is within the clay body (a variation of the nerikomi technique). I want my wares to complement food and drink. Vessels in elemental black and white patterns not only cradle daily sustenance, that delights us with aroma and taste, but in equal measure present it harmoniously to the eye.
